How can I apply for DV Lottery 2024-Before you can enter the DV-2024 Lottery, you must pass the DV Lottery eligibility test. If you pass the DV Lottery eligibility test, you are welcome to register and enter the DV-2024 Lottery for a chance to win one of the 50,000 permanent resident cards (green cards) that will be granted to the winners in January 2024.
The United States Government grants 50,000 permanent resident cards (green cards) each year to individuals from other countries with low rates of immigration to the United States. The Diversity Visa (DV) Lottery was established in the 1996 Immigration Act by the United States Congress to diversify the American population.
In order to be eligible for the DV Lottery this year, applicants must fulfill two requirements in particular. (Note that the name of this years (2022) DV Lottery is the DV-2024 Lottery because 2024 is the year that winners of this year’s DV Lottery will be able to enter the country with their new permanent residence cards.)
The majority of people worldwide who are 18 or older are eligible to enter the DV Lottery. There are two straightforward but severe eligibility requirements that you must complete in order to participate in the DV-2024 Lottery. The Diversity Visa Lottery is not open to natives of nations that have sent more than 50,000 immigrants to the US in the previous five years. The list of nations whose citizens are unable to participate in the DV Lottery this year can be found in the DV Lottery Requirements. Be aware that this list will alter annually.
Electronic DV Lottery Registration
In order to make the DV Lottery process quicker, more effective, and more secure, the US government launched the computerized online application system in 2003, starting with the Diversity Visa DV-2005 Lottery. As a result, the United States Government no longer accepts paper applications for the Diversity Visa Lottery; all applications must be submitted online. The U.S. Government aggressively employs specialized information technology and other screening techniques to spot any candidate who commits fraud with the express intent of entering the country illegally, as well as to spot those who submit repeated applications during a given DV Lottery year.
Every DV Lottery year, the United States Government will only accept one application from each eligible applicant, and submitting more submissions will disqualify you and your co-applicants. To enter the American DV Lottery, use the secure, quick, and reliable online application process.

Are you eligible to participate in the DV2024 Diversity Visa Lottery?
The majority of people worldwide are eligible to apply for the 2022 green card lottery, also known as the DV2024 Lottery immigration program. Before you can participate in the DV2024 Lottery, you must fulfill the following two conditions:
1. You must have been born in an eligible nation in order to participate in the DV Lottery.
You must have been born in a nation with a low rate of immigration to the US in order to be eligible for the DV2024 Lottery. You cannot participate in the DV Lottery if you were born in a nation with a high rate of immigration to the US. You are now prohibited from participating in the DV Lottery if you were born in one of the nations listed in the table below.
Please be aware that your birth country determines whether you are eligible for the DV2024 Lottery. It’s a frequent misconception that eligibility for the DV Lottery program depends on citizenship or present residence, however, this is untrue. There were two changes this year in the list of eligible countries and that was that people born in Honduras and Hong Kong SAR are no longer eligible to enter the DV2024 lottery.
If you are born in one of the countries in the following table, then you are excluded from entering the DV2024 Lottery
China (Including Hong Kong SAR),
United Kingdom(except Northern Ireland),
Note, that United Kingdom includes the following dependent areas: Anguilla, Bermuda, British Virgin Islands, Cayman Islands, Falkland Islands, Gibraltar, Montserrat, Pitcairn, St. Helena, and Turks and Caicos Islands. Note, natives born in Northern Ireland do qualify to enter the DV Lottery.
- Persons born in the Gaza Strip are chargeable to Egypt for the DV Lottery this year.
- Persons born in Macau SAR, and Taiwan are also eligible to enter the DV2024 Lottery.
- Natives from all other countries may register for this year’s DV Lottery, the DV2024 Lottery.
If you were born in a non-qualifying country you may still qualify
If your spouse or one of your parents was born in a qualifying country, you may still be able to participate in the DV Lottery based on the country of birth of your spouse or one of your parents:
For instance, if you were born in a nation whose citizens are ineligible to participate in the DV Lottery but your spouse was, you may claim your spouse’s country of birth as your country of eligibility, or changeability to the nation where your derivative spouse was born, as long as both of you are listed on the chosen DV Lottery application. However, you will not be given a DV Lottery green card unless-
- your spouse is also eligible for and issued a DV Lottery green card,
- and both of you must enter the United States of America together with the DV Lottery green cards.
2. Education or Work experience that qualifies for the DV2024 Lottery
You must fulfill one of the two conditions listed below (Option 1 or Option 2 below) in order to register for the DV2024 Lottery:
To qualify for the DV2024 Lottery, you must have completed a United States high school education or a foreign equivalent of United States high school degree. “High School education or its equivalent” means the successful completion of a twelve-year course of elementary and secondary education in the United States or the successful completion in another country of a formal course of elementary and secondary education comparable to completing a 12-year education in the United States.
